Why do Christians communicate the Gospel through the Arts?
WHAT’S THE PURPOSE OF THIS UNIT?
It is the intention of this unit to focus on what beliefs motivate Christian’s to use different art forms to communicate the Gospel and what biblical truth statements and role models there are for creative communication of the Gospel, including those of Jesus.
There are also opportunities within this unit to:
- investigate examples of a range of contemporary Christian art forms with reference to their historical precedents that seek to communicate the Gospel (for example Wintershall’s outdoor Biblical productions such as ‘The Life of Christ’ and The Stations of Cross)
- to reflect on the impact of these art forms used by Christians and non-believers.
