Wintershall’s Biblical Drama actors come together to create exciting workshops for schools, church groups and others. We are currently offering a number of different themed workshops, including Advent, Lent and The Easter Passion
Suitable for KS1 and KS2 children, our Advent workshops are an excellent introduction to the Wintershall Nativity, but they also encourage a deeper exploration of the meaning of Christmas for Christians. The workshops provide an opportunity to see behind the scenes in the props and costume departments and meet many of the cast, including Chester the Donkey. They can be tailored to meet an individual school’s needs, so please get in touch to discuss any particular requirements you may have.

Thank you so much to you and all of your staff for an excellent day which allowed the Y6 pupils to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas – it will surely be an experience they will never forget Headteacher
60 year 6 children joined us onsite for a Pre-Performance Workshop. The children and staff met actors and members of the production team, as they journeyed towards Bethlehem. They discussed what it would be like for Mary waiting for her baby when they held 4 month Arthur, who plays Jesus in the Nativity; they met Chester the donkey and wondered about his role in the story; they explored behind the scenes in the props and costume department, talked to a shepherd and even had an audience with King Herod himself. The workshop finished with a reflection on the audiences role in the story with a closer look at a model of the Holly Barn Theatre. The children then enjoyed their picnic tea before continuing their journey up the hill for the start of the performance.
We were so impressed with the way we were looked after from the moment we arrived to the time we got back on the coach. It really helped the children and staff to focus on the real meaning of Christmas at such a hectic time of year. Everything was of such a high standard and thoughtfully done. Thank you so much for a very special day. We loved it. You are really living out the Gospel. Deputy Headteacher
