Using biblical drama and resources to support Schools, Churches, Community Groups and Families
We are delighted to welcome thousands of school children and hundreds of families and groups to our annual performances of ‘The Life of Christ’ and the Nativity here at Wintershall. Wintershall Education provides an exciting collection of resources and outreach programmes that accompany ‘The Life of Christ’. Online access and assemblies enable all groups to ‘experience the story’ using biblical drama.
We are incredibly lucky to be working in partnership with Education Advisers and teachers in order to support schools in the best way possible. Schools use the performances in a variety of ways, from cross-curricular learning in History, Theatre Studies, RE and Values enquiries, to exploring Christian spirituality and deepening understanding of the life and impact of Jesus. The production is also a memorable example of how Christians use their creativity to communicate the Gospel and impact people today, which is a popular RE enquiry theme for KS2 and KS3.
Community groups and families
Our productions and resources are a wonderful way to explore the Story of Jesus together, whether onsite here at Wintershall, or in the comfort of your own church hall or community room. They can be used as part of community worship or liturgy, supporting Parish ministry in care homes and prisons, or as part of a retreat or quiet day.
Our Actor led biblical dramas are an engaging taster of ‘The Life of Christ’ and have been very popular over the last year, reaching over 14,000 children and young people. Booking forms and dates for 2018-2019 are available on line now for both schools and community groups.
The Wintershall Education Virtues Enquiry through the Drama resource offers inspiring ways to deepen exploration of Christian values and their impact, enriching RE units and Character education. More information about workshops and sample resources are available on the Wintershall Education website.
Our Advent workshops are an opportunity to explore the Christmas story further, reflecting together with cast and crew of The Nativity while gaining unprecedented access behind the scenes of this special production.
Wintershall’ s stunning Stations of the Cross, scattered around the Estate, and created by a range of artists, are used throughout the year by schools and other groups, to reflect on the Passion of Jesus. To find out more about these and other retreats and workshops available onsite, please contact Lucy Hall, our Education Officer.
Further information and all our resources can be found on the members pages. Log in now to access stunning images, clips and audio interviews as well as booking forms for all our events.
