‘The Life of Christ’ dramatisation of scripture brings the Gospels alive. Set in the grounds of Wintershall Estate in Surrey, it`s an annual dramatic open-air community drama presenting the birth, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Enjoy the experience of following over one hundred actors of all ages, professionals and volunteers, in full costume, moving through the beautiful grounds, a landscape of lakes and parkland in the Surrey Hills re-enacting the remarkable events of Jesus’ life. Schools by prior arrangement for some performances can meet cast members who will be happy to answer pupil’s questions.
We are delighted to welcome thousands of school children and hundreds of families to our performance of ‘The Life of Christ’. Schools use the performance as a resource for RE and Values teaching and learning to deepen their understanding of Christianity and of the life and impact of Jesus. The performance also serves as a rich stimulus for history enquiries and spiritual development.
‘Wintershall is the perfect culmination of a year’s RE teaching. We can teach them about it but until they have ‘lived it’ it is very theoretical. It gives them the chance to experience first hand the journey we regularly talk about. It is a fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone teaching children in year 5 and 6. It is an experience they will never forget!’ RE Coordinator
